Traffic

No one will know about your blog if you do not get out there and tell people about it. You must promote your blog and not be shy. More visitors means more ad clicks, more product sales, more affiliate sales

I started promoting my blog via Twitter, StumbleUpon and also I write comments on other blogs to get traffic also via forums and writting articles and submitting them to online platforms such as GoArticles. It is important for a blogger to experiment with the different platforms to find where the target audience is and what works best.

Why is traffic so important? Because for most methods of online income generation, your income is a function of traffic. If you double your traffic, you’ll probably double your income. You can screw almost everything else up, but if you can generate serious traffic, it’s really hard to fail.
With sufficient traffic the realistic worst case is that you’ll eventually be able to monetize your web site via trial and error (as long as you keep those visitors coming).

When I first created this blog, I knew that traffic building was going to be my biggest challenge. If I couldn’t build traffic, it was going to be very difficult to succeed. Traffic is the primary fuel of online income generation. Please look here at ways to generate traffic.

Selecting an Affiliate Advertising Program

Selecting an affiliate advertising offers to put on your blog is easy. Just do a simple search on the web for products or services that is relavent to your blog topic. For example if you are blogging about web design then there a few web hosting sites that offer an affiliate program. Sometimes you have to contact them and ask if they offer programs like this, but most of the time they will have a link on their page that says "Join our affiliate program".

Factors to Consider When You Select an Affiliate Advertising Program to Monetize Your Blog

1. Read/ research all the details about the program including the pay, the terms, etc.

2. Select affiliate program ads that are consistent with your blog’s content. Ads that don’t match your content
will undoubtedly be clicked on less frequently (meaning less revenue for you) and can decrease the credibility of
your blog (meaning fewer readers will return to your blog because it's cluttered with irrelevant ads).

3. Don’t go overboard. Too many ads not only make your blog look a big sell and look like spam to readers, but search engines will think so, too. It will be marked as spam by Google and other search engines which will hurt your traffic and page rank overall.

4. Don’t expect big profits (at least not at first). While many can generate a decent income from affiliate advertising. Boosting your income through affiliateadvertising takes time and practice.

5. Don’t be afraid to test new ads, placement, programs and more until you find thebest mix to meet your goals for your blog

Google’s Adsense program and alteratives

Lets look at Google’s AdSense program in easy money making ideas on the internet. AdSense is a program that will pay you displaying targeted Google ads on your site how much you will get paid depends on your hard work. This seems to be the main income on blogspot.com.

Advertisers use Google Adwords not only to advertise in Google Search results but also on websites that participate in the Google AdSense Program. This is done on the Pay-Per-Click (PPC) or Pay-Per-Thousand-Impressions (CPM). So when a visitor visits a participant's blog or website and chooses to click on any of these Ad's, Google shares an undisclosed percentage of that cost of that click with the blog \ website owner. (you and me)

So what are the PPC and CPM payment models;

Pay Per Click (PPC): When a site visitor clicks on the ad, the advertiser is charged a small amount, of which Google keeps some and pays some to the website owner and usually in the way of a text ad.

Pay-Per_Thousand Impression (CPM): Are text or image ads and are site-targeted. The advertiser pays each time his ad is displayed on a page and each time a impression is registered, a share of the money goes to the website owner. In this model the advertiser gets to choose which sites there ads will show.

Depending on the context of your blog/website and the visitors that you attract, the visitor might be interested in finding additional info or products on that particular topic. and it works if the blog/website is good enough so the visitor may feel the need to go further and find out more by clicking on the ads,

Google AdSense Program is NOT the only ONE

Sometimes the Google AdSense Program is not for you or you didn't get approved, as not all blogs or websites get approved to work with AdSense. Google sometimes bans publishers from using AdSense for unknown/ unclear reasons so it is useful for publishers to look at alternatives.

Here is the top ten alternatives to look at;

  1. AdBrite
  2. Bidvertiser
  3. Infolinks
  4. Chitika
  5. Clicksor
  6. AdToll
  7. Exit Junction
  8. Yahoo Publisher Network
  9. Target Point
  10. Fast Click

To qualify for using Google AdSense in your website all you need is a decent website with a least 10 -15 web pages with good content. well I am not there yet so I will be applying in the next few days to see if I will be approved or not. and if not then there is the alternatives I can try. At the moment Google AdSense seems to be the top dog in Ad generated income and is also a bit anal.

One Good Blog

What makes for a good blog? It seems like an easy answer: a good blog is one that people want to read and want more of.

So lets look at a basic understanding of what could make a good Blog.

GOAL

A blog is meant to accomplish something. You get to decide what it is. It is not so much for the reader as it is for your blogging consistency. What do you want to do with your site? DO YOU want to influence (well thought out opinions), inform, and build community with people online. Also, I just want to have a fun pass-time

LAYOUT

This isn't so for all people but for me personally if a blog looks poor then I won't read it. Attracting the eye is key to a good BLOG

CAPTURE

If you want to get someone's attention you have to have a good opening line a boring headline will tell the reader that the content is boring, even if it isn't. The headline already provided the first impression of what the reader can expect to read if they click through to the article.
To get your audience to read your content, you need a solid pick-up line that is going to compel them to want to read it. You don't have to go for sexy, but you do need headlines that give an indication for what's in store, dressed in a way that is appealing and increases desire to know more.
Think of the headline as the packaging. The stuff inside the package will only be seen if the package is appealing enough to get picked up and opened. Your blog post title--your pick-up line--is about presenting your content in a way that your audience want to see what more is there.

YOUR CHECKLIST

• Grabs visitor attention
• Ties need to benefits
• Justifies and calls to action
• Gets to best stuff quickly
• Reading level is appropriate
• Customer focused
• Consistent voice
• Benefits and features
• Reduce /explain industry jargon
• No typo, spelling or grammar errors
• Contains internal contextual links
• Links out to authoritative sources
• Enhancing keyword usage (SEO)

can you think of anything else to add to the check list

Make $$$$ from Blogging

Is it an internet money scam or is it legit?.

From my research so far there are many online personalities that claim to have made a great income from the affiliate groups, even a 12 year old ProBlogger David Wilkinson
who in a recent interview at Repliqa answered the question of,

‘Are you making any money blogging?‘ with:

“Yes, quite a bit actually. I could definitely live off $500 a month until I turn 14, by which time I aim to be earning more, by experimenting in Internet Marketing.”

source; Darren Rowse

So see what I do learn what I do and maybe try what I do and if we can make a income from this well that is a bonus and if we dont maybe I stuffed up or it is a bit of fiction all in all it can't hurt.
